ABSTRACT :
Most of forest area in the Gorontalo Province has been occupied by
community that makes clear away and cultivation of forest around the
preservation area or preservation forest. From land sat image data in
2005, indicated that from area width ± 826.382 Ha almost 30% was in
apprehensive condition. The impact felt when rains in which the sediment
transports become larger and influenced the water quality at the River
Stream Area. But on the contrary if the heat condition, the dryness felt
the water catching was narrower. A cultivation activity in the forest
area by community around forest is demand to fulfill their life
necessity. The community as ecosystem chains most depends to cultivation
for their means of livelihood. Ironically, the forest area has
depressed and damaged more widely.
